Jakarta - (13/12) To inaugurate the last export shipment and as a form of gratitude for achieving target in 2019, SOHO Industri Pharmasi (SIP) held a ceremony by inviting the Head of National Agency of Drug and Food Control (NADFC) Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony was held in the finished good warehouse area and was inaugurated directly by Mr. Tan Eng Liang, President Commissioner of SOHO Global Health (SGH), Mrs. Mary and Head of NADFC, Dr. Ir. Penny K. Lukito, MCP. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Rogelio C. La'O Jr as the President Director of SGH, Mrs. Yuliana Tjhai as SEVP, Legal Compliance, Internal Audit, Corporate Secretary & Human Resources SGH, Mr. Piero Brambati as SEVP, Finance, Business Development, Business Technology & Procurement SGH, all leaders and team of Supply and Operations, all of the NADFC team and also journalists from various media who will cover this event.
The ceremony began with singing Indonesia Raya by all audience & continued with Mars SOHO, lead by “Muda-Mudi” SOHO. All the audience were also presented with a traditional Balinese dance "Puspawresti".
The ceremony then continued with the delivery of speech by Mr. Tan Eng Liang and Mrs. Penny Lukito. In his speech, Mr. Tan Eng Liang said that this year, SIP has exported as much as 40 times, the pharmaceutical products were exported to the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Cameroon, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Timor Leste and Vietnam.
Some of the exported products are products containing curcuma which is native plant from Indonesia. The curcuma that is used is developed in the SOHO Center for Excellence in Herbal Research (SCEHR) plantation located in Sukabumi. The product development is carried out with the concept of Seed to Patient and collaborating in ABCG (Academic, Business, Community, Government). Through this ABCG collaboration, SIP products are expected to contribute not only to the health of the Indonesian people, the welfare of the farming community, but also to introduce the potential of Indonesian herbs to the international world.
In her speech, Mrs. Penny Lukito said that the NADFC has always supported the industry in developing products to market overseas, especially traditional medicines native to Indonesia. Efforts and commitments that have been made by NADFC to accelerate the development of traditional medicines are through simplification of regulations, simplification of registration and coaching clinic. In addition, the NADFC’s Board also initiated the formation of the Task Force “Satuan Tugas Percepatan Pengembangan dan Pemanfaatan Fitofarmaka” to facilitate the research in universities and research institutions.
After delivering the speech, the event continued with exchanging souvenirs as a form of appreciation from both parties. The ceremony of the release of export products began with the Closing of Container Trucks, then continued with the Breaking of the Jugs and the Dispatch of the Container Trucks led by Mrs. Penny Lukito and accompanied by Mr. Tan Eng Liang. The ceremony ended with a group photo and a question and answer session to Mrs. Penny Lukito and Mr. Tan Eng Liang by fellow media.
